Normally Marie would be lounging in the studio drinking her coffee by now, but she got a bit.. thrown off course. Naturally, she and Callie had become experts at dodging and avoiding fans when out in the public. Not that she didn't love her fans dearly, but there were a lot of them, and it didn't take long for them to swarm. She much preferred to smile and wave at them through the glass than to be trampled in person.

Marie had been sneaking her way back to the studio after lunch when a very observant fan recognized her and called out. Cue the stampede. Since it was almost time to announce the next round of stages, there were a lot of inklings waiting in the Plaza. The lone Squid Sister managed to slip away into an alley, but had no way to check if the coast was clear without giving her position away again. It would appear that she was trapped, for the time being. "Not good.."

..................................................................... Zerul Huntsmith (Inkling) Zerul was sitting in the plaza when he hears the screams of several fans. Hunter notices one of the squid sisters diving into an alleyway then hiding there. He wanted to be nice, but knew if he went into an alleyway it could attract attention. luckily he knew the water drainage system well enough to get around it. Zerul turns into squid form and easily passes through the grate of the water drainage system. He pops up behind Marie. He returns to his normal form and covers her mouth and make a shush face. "Are you ok? they were all over you." Hunter was trying to be quiet. he had removed his hand from her mouth once she realized he was being friendly.

Marie couldn't tell where it was coming from, but she heard a strange noise. Afraid someone had discovered her, she glanced around the alley in every direction. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, this placed her back to one of the entrances of the water drain, the same one Zerul came out of. When a hand suddenly covered her mouth, Marie screamed. It would have alerted the entire plaza, had her mouth not been covered in the first place.

But then she heard a voice, and Marie noticed the hint of concern in the stranger's tone. She calmed down and the hand was lifted, at which point she turned around and took a few steps back. At this point, Marie knew her composure was lost but she tried to regain it anyway. She cleared her throat and smoothed out the lower half of her dress with both hands. "Yes, I'm.. fine."

"Speech." | 'Thoughts.'

..................................................................... Zerul Huntsmith (Inkling) Zerul sighs hearing she was fine. "do you need any help. you are cutting it awfully close to News Time" He shifted looking out at the plaza she was hidden from view so everyone who was looking didn't pay him any mind.

Marie didn't really want to admit she needed help, but she wasn't going to be late for Inkopolis News Time either. That would cause Callie, their producers and their fans to worry. Marie was stubborn, but definitely not that stubborn. Besides, this boy seemed nice enough.. despite the fact that he nearly gave her a heart attack. "Yes, I need help. I need a fan-free way back to the studio. Can you help me?"

..................................................................... Zerul Huntsmith (Inkling) Zerul nods to her request. "I believe so" He thinks for a bit then he gets an idea. "Hide in the drainage tunnel and i will get there attention" Hunter walks over to the drainage tunnel and goes in. he quickly pops up on the other side of the building and runs down the street. "HEY! I spotted Marie going down Emerald Vale!" He waves at them the fans to head that way. Once the crowd was charging towards him he gets himself inside the crowd and vanishes into a drainage tunnel quickly taking it back to where Marie would be unless she already escaped.

With a nod, Marie transformed into a squid and jumped into the drainage tunnel. She could hear Zerul shout as well as the yelling of the crowd. Though she could have left, figuring the coast was clear now, Marie waited for Zerul to return. Sitting in the dim and murky drain tunnel wasn't the most appealing, even in her squid form, but she toughed it out.

"Speech." | 'Thoughts.'

..................................................................... Zerul Huntsmith (Inkling) Zerul notices her squid self still hiding he leaves the drain and turns back to normal. "Should be clear at this point." Hunter had a sneaking feeling some people would actually wait by the studio. He moves out of the alleyway and looks around most of the crowd had fled to Emerald Vale. the others staying around he knew would be an issue. but there far less of them than the crowd he tricked.

Marie exited the drain tunnel and turned back to her normal form. She quickly examined her hat to ensure it hadn't gotten too dirty before placing it back onto her head. She slowly and cautiously followed Zerul, making sure to stop behind him and stay out of view from anyone who might still be left behind. "Is it safe?"

"Speech." | 'Thoughts.'

Marie nodded slowly, unsure about the plan. Still, she went ahead with it anyway. "Okay." Running right through the plaza would have called a lot of attention, so she started off at a quick walk. But soon enough, some inklings noticed her. At that point, she ran for the studio.

"Speech." | 'Thoughts.'

..................................................................... Zerul Huntsmith (Inkling) Zerul was right behind her keeping an eye on on everyone. once they started to notice her she sped up. Hunter notices a pair blocking the stairs to the studio. Hunter dashes ahead and tackles the two to the ground. they start to get into a fist fight with him. He manages to pull them away from the stairs so she could pass. He pulls out his blaster and shoots the ground before bounding away. the two he was fighting with were not of the same color as him so they were stuck in the ink as they fought to get out. Zerul catches up with Marie just in time for her to get cornered by a few fans he tackles them to ground again freeing her path. He does the same as before but this time there was one other that was his color. that person grabbed Hunter's leg keeping him in place. Hunter ends up in a big brawl just outside the studio. Marie wouldn't have to worry about followers at this point as Hunter was blocking the path. Fists were flying and Hunter wasn't going to win the fight. He only wanted to buy time.

Marie wasn't sure what to expect, but she certainly hadn't anticipated violence. She couldn't afford to stop now though, so with the two inklings out of the way Marie practically flew up the stairs. Once again she was blocked by more fans, but once again Zerul came to her rescue, albeit in a very crude fashion. At this point, her hope was that the start of the broadcast would distract everyone in the plaza and stop the fight.

She burst through door of the studio and shouted for everyone to begin the show. Marie took her place despite looking like she'd just run a marathon. In a matter of seconds, the Inkopolis News Time splash screen appeared and the music rang out in the plaza.

..................................................................... Zerul Huntsmith (Inkling) Zerul was thrown off of the second floor railing by the time the chime came up. They all stopped to look at the screen. Hunter just went over to under the stairs to lick his wounds. "well it wasn't pretty, but you did your job"

The show was over quickly and Marie plopped down onto her chair in the studio. But before long, she stood up again and approached the glass. She didn't see Zerul on the stairway or the railing anymore. Maybe he ran off once the show started. Was he even okay? Marie ordered one of their staff to go outside and search for him, and bring him to the studio if possible.
